As A Kid, I Can Vividly Remember Sitting In The Back Of

As a kid, I can vividly remember sitting in the back of my family’s mini-van, singing along to, and loving all the early 2000’s radio hits. I’ve always had a love for music, and an appreciation for the different creative ways instruments and lyrics came together. Once I got my first iPod, I pretty much just listened to whatever my older brother was in to, and at the time, this was rock. He introduced me to all the 70’s and 80’s classics I would need to know, and I began to enjoy this genre. As I checked out more and more types of music, I developed an interest in rap specifically, because I liked how the beats sounded and words rhymed. As time has gone on, I have come appreciate the lyricism in rap, as well as the story that can be told†¦show more content†¦A lot of artists came from poor beginnings, and tell of the common experiences of young, working-class African Americans. This gives rappers the ability to tell a story that the listener can relate to, therefore making it meaningful to someone. When a listener understands the experiences, it’s easier for them to understand the deeper message. A lot of rap music just has the typical themes of crime and drugs, yet some artists are able to incorporate deeper meaning in their talented lyrics. Through a variety of creative beats and clever words, rappers are able to entertain the listener, while also conveying a deeper influential message. One artist, that is particularly good at telling a story while conveying a deeper message, is Kendrick Lamar. In his music, he draws influence from his roots where he grew up in Compton, California. Kendrick Lamar and his family struggled when he was young, and he grew up around lots of drugs and crime. Despite this, he was able to work hard and become successful, today claiming many accolades including seven Grammy’s. His album, â€Å"To Pimp a Butterfly†, is regarded as one of the most complex works in rap histo ry. He delivers a deep listening experience with great lyrical work. Lamar raps about grappling with his newfound fame, and what this means being a representative of his community as a young black man (Walker). GMO: to Be or Not to Be Genetically modified organisms (GMO) are created by means of genetic engineering methods. Genetic engineering is a science that allows people place DNA fragments into the genome of plant, animal or microorganism from any other body and give them certain properties. For example, tomatoes possess frost resistance gene from the Arctic flounder, potatoes have a bacteria gene, whose venom is deadly for the Colorado potato beetle, rice feature a human gene that is responsible for the ingredients of breast milk, which makes the cereal more nutritious. Experimental creation of genetically modified organisms began in the 70s of the 20th century. In 1992 in China they began to grow tobacco that was resistant to pesticides. In 1994, genetically modified tomatoes that were resistant to transportation appeared in the USA. Since that time, the production of GMOs was gaining momentum. As a result, now we have GM soy, corn, rice, potatoes, tomatoes, canola, sugar beets, wheat, peas, sunflower, papaya, cotton, tobacco, cows with high fat content of milk, salmon that can live both in salt and fresh water, as well as many other products. Still, growing and consuming genetically modified organisms is accompanied by several risks. Environmentalists fear that genetically modified forms may accidentally penetrate into the wild, which will inevitably lead to catastrophic changes in all ecosystems. For example, cross-pollinated weeds can get a GM-gene of resistance to pests and pesticides. Then, the multiplication of weeds will be uncontrollable. Self-regulation in ecosystems will be destroyed. Weeds will displace many species that are unable to compete with them and occupy large areas, which will be constantly expanding. In addition to the environmental risks, associated with the problems of cultivation of GMOs, there are dietary risks. Consuming of a transgenic products, recieved after transplantation of Brazil nut’s gene into the DNA of soybean, caused many people have allergic reactions to protein. Plant varieties that are resistant to pesticides can accumulate harmful substances and cause poisoning when consumed.

The Holodomor was a repugnant genocide that took place in Ukraine eighty years ago. Joseph Stalin, leader of the Soviet Union, led the genocide that killed tens of millions of people. From 1932-1933, Ukraine went under Stalin’s dictatorship. In the time, Stalin had not only put up labor camps, but had also taken away mostly all Ukraine’s food. The Holodomor genocide was one of the worst genocides in Ukraine’s history. The term Holodomor means death by hunger in Ukrainian. Ukraine has not been the same since this tragic time. (Holodomor: Memories of Ukraine s Silent Massacre, 2013). It started in 1920 when Ukraine tried to break away from the Soviet Union, but it was unsuccessful because Stalin wouldn’t let them. Stalin then at the end of the 1920s, wanted to shut down Ukraine’s autonomy. He does so by having individuals arrested, sent to prison, and even executed (Sebag, 2008). Ukraine used to be the bread basket of Russia. That was until Stalin and his crew took over and held over  ¾ of Ukraine hostage. While he was having people imprisoned and executed, he also ordered the collectivization of agriculture. Most of Ukraine were peasants and farmers. The majority of these people owned a good amount of land, and some even owned livestock. There were people who were against collectivization. These people were called Kulaks, which are rich peasants. Living in an impoverished community creates many hardships for these individuals. Hardships such as not being able to pay bills, not getting enough food on the table, not being able to pay medical expenses, and more. Inequality is a real problem in America when it comes to social classes. The inequality has been rising throughout the years. There are many solutions to this problem that have been proposed such as taxing the rich more, or reducing the costs of public colleges, so these people can get educated and get out of poverty. Although this is an issue, some of this inequality is needed in America’s capitalist economy to stimulate productivity and innovation, but not to the extent it is currently. The inequality between classes is necessary, but needs to be reduced. Inequality is necessary for many reasons. Poverty fills many roles in society that would otherwise not likely be filled for example, according to Gans â€Å"the existence of poverty ensures that society s ’dirty work’ will be done† (P.1). Clarity of the Proposal The project proposal developed for the User Phone Call Response Behavior application development have some missing components such as design and description of the project and thus it is difficult for the assessor to understand the main motive of the project development. The outcome of the project and the future scope of the project is also missing. The project proposal lack in attachment of the proper interface design of the application. The interface design for the application is basic and it needs lots of improvement in the final built product for making the project attractive. The description of the architecture is required to be added to the project proposal for proper understanding of the components and working of the architecture. The description of the class diagram and the use case diagram is also required to be added for increasing the clarity of the project proposal document. Technical soundness of the Project The project is technically sound and the success of the project depends on the service, design and layout and usability of the application. The application can be easily developed in Android Studio or Eclipse. A simple knowledge in Java would make the application development easier. The interface of the application is kept simple and the code for the development of the application is required to be added for adding functionality to the application. Creation of the layout of the application and connecting it with the database is the main difficulty of the project. Different tools like Dreamweaver and other visual editor can be used for the development of the application. Overall Suggestion for the project The project have scope of improvement and compatibility of the application is required to be considered for the development of the project. Multiple testing of the application- The application is required to be tested multiple times on different version of android for analyzing the proper working of the application. Improvement of the security- The security of the application is required to be increased such that the contact is encrypted from unauthorized access. Use of readymade platform- The application can be developed on a readymade platform for faster development of the application and the use of application development tool can also help the development team to develop the project in module. Addition of cross platform feature- The application is required to be developed with addition of cross platform feature and the GUI is required to be developed before the development of the codes and the application can be developed in iOS and Android. Use of IDE- Android studio or Eclipse can be used for the development of the application and it helps in automated testing of the application and decrease the bug in the application. Conclusion From the peer review it can be concluded that the interface of the application is required to be improved. The proposed solution is required to be developed with cross functionality and code converter can be used for rapid application development. The project proposal is created with proper quality and it is technically sound.
